Role Overview
The Director of Sourcing will lead all sourcing activities for our CASK Industries organization. The Director of Sourcing will be responsible for handling the company's end to end global sourcing operations. The successful candidate will be able to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company's spending, supply partnerships and exploring new supply sources while maintaining strong relationships with existing providers.
The Role You'll Play
Build and maintain a best in class global supplier network for all product categories
Responsible for vendor selection, contract management, and materials planning
Build strong and effective relationships with trustworthy suppliers
Drive cost improvements and improve service levels
Optimize sourcing processes to attain maximum efficiency
Lead negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals
Cooperate with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes
Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers to include shifting of economics between suppliers in different countries
Perform cost scenario and benchmarking analyses
Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques
Partner with the Director of Logistics to reduce export haulage costs and improve service levels
Execute appropriate product testing and quality control programs
Provide product development engineering support and interface with suppliers to develop new products
Manage the cleanup and maintenance of the vendor master and item master in order to accurately track spend on an ongoing basis
Your Building Blocks of Success
Proven work experience as a sourcing manager or procurement manager
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software
Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement
Strong project management and leadership skills
Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
In-depth knowledge of key sourcing processes and current best practices
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; Ability to build a high quality team and provide supervision while maintaining familiarity with pertinent details of each project
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Superior collaboration skills and ability to manage cross-functional relationships within the organization
Expert time-management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills; Ability to quickly adapt to an often-changing and rapid-paced work environment
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
4-year college degree in supply chain, construction management, engineering or related field
Experience with global suppliers especially Chinese manufacturers
The Director of Sourcing supervises the Manager of Shanghai Operations and Sourcing Managers.
The Director of Sourcing reports to the SVP of Supply Chain and Services.
